  •  A partially permeable membrane is used in the reverse osmosis (RO) method of water treatment to extract large particles, undesirable compounds and ions from drinking water.
  • In reverse osmosis, osmotic pressure, a cooperative property driven by solvent chemical potential differences, is a thermodynamic property overridden by applied pressure. Reverse osmosis is used in both industrial processes and drinking water production because it has the ability to remove a wide variety of biological species (mostly bacteria) as well as dissolved and suspended chemical species from water.

Basic RO Water Purifier Working Process:

When the water in the RO tank gets low, the float switch turns on and provides supply to the solenoid valve and the pump. 
Water is pumped into the membrane filter at the pump's maximum PSI. Only then will the salt water separate and the fresh water separate. The separated pure water goes inside the post carbon filter and fills the RO tank.
